I’m Brian Writt. For more than five years, I served as a Senior Account Executive at Successware, working closely with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical contractors nationwide.
That role provided direct exposure to how service businesses operate - how revenue flows, how accounting is structured, and how vendor relationships affect margin over time.
It also provided insight into how embedded incentives influence cost structures inside the home services ecosystem.
Over time, I saw a consistent pattern.
Operators are expected to trust the ecosystem around them - platforms, vendors, integrations - often without full transparency into how those systems are designed.
Most business owners aren’t lacking effort or intelligence.
They’re navigating complexity.
I created Ascendant to step outside that structure.
Not to attack platforms.
Not to disrupt for the sake of disruption.
But to provide independent perspective.
Ascendant exists to evaluate decisions from the operator’s side of the table - without embedded incentives driving the outcome.
I believe in:
· Clarity before commitment
· Structure over assumption
· Measured decisions over reactive ones
If something makes sense, we move forward.
If it doesn’t, we don’t.
The goal isn’t to sell a service.
It’s to help operators understand what they’re agreeing to before they agree to it.
I was raised in the trades. I understand the culture, the expectations, and the pride that comes with building something tangible.
The operators I work with care deeply about their teams, their families, and the longevity of their businesses.
They deserve transparency in the systems that affect their margin.
